FAQ

1. What is HPMC K100H used for in construction materials?

Landercoll® HPMC K100H is specifically designed for use in External Insulation and Finishing Systems (EIFS) and standard cement tile adhesives. It enhances workability, water retention, and open time, ensuring better adhesion and increased durability.

2. What viscosity range does HPMC K100H provide?

Landercoll® HPMC K100H offers a viscosity of 85,000–110,000 mPa·s (NDJ-1, 2% solution) or 45,000–60,000 mPa·s (Brookfield-RV, 2% solution). It is considered a high-viscosity grade, suitable for EIFS and tile adhesive formulations requiring strong water retention and consistency control.

3. What is the difference between HPMC K100H and HPMC K100?

K100H is specifically formulated for EIFS and standard cement tile adhesives, with the same high viscosity range as K100. K100 has a broader application scope including skim coat, gypsum plasters, and repair mortars. Both offer excellent water retention, but K100H is optimized for external insulation systems and tile adhesive applications.

4. What problems can occur if HPMC K100H dosage is too high?

Overdosing may lead to overly thick mortar consistency, reduced strength development, slower setting behavior, and difficult troweling during application. Always follow recommended dosage levels for your specific formulation.

5. What is the shelf life of HPMC K100H?

Standard shelf life is 2 years when stored under proper conditions: in original packaging, dry and clean environment, away from heat sources, with tightly sealed packaging to prevent moisture intrusion.

6. Can HPMC K100H improve crack resistance?

Yes. By improving water retention and open time, HPMC K100H ensures proper hydration and increased durability, which helps reduce shrinkage cracking and surface defects such as poor curing or powdering in EIFS and tile adhesive systems.
